Last week marked a huge milestone for us. We officially launched A Lifetime Of Wisdom, a social-first charity created to tackle loneliness and isolation among older people and those with mobility challenges.
Our mission is simple but powerful:
Give people freedom, connection and a voice by taking them on bike rides, capturing their stories, and sharing them with the world, like a podcast on wheels.
And honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect way to launch.
”An unforgettable launch at Peartree Care Home in Kirkham with Thelma and Elma
Our official launch took place at Peartree Care Home in Kirkham, surrounded by residents, staff, families and community members who all share something in common: a belief that every person has a story worth hearing.
The stars of the day were Thelma and Elma, believed to be the oldest twins in the UK, aged an incredible 106 years old.
We had the privilege of sitting down with them to hear their stories, stories shaped by a century of life, resilience, humour and wisdom. Listening to them speak was a reminder of why A Lifetime Of Wisdom exists in the first place.
So often, older generations are overlooked. Yet their experiences are richer than any textbook, podcast or documentary.
